POEMS FROM THE JONESBORO SHOOTINGS

Mitchell Johnson
By Matt Mason

Mitchell Johnson was my friend.
We stuck together till the end.
Then on that tragic day.
Five good people went away.
They will be in my heart and mind.
Even though Mitchell will be hard to find.
I'll try to forgive him some day.
He's a friend anyway.
Mitchell Johnson was my friend.
We stuck together until the end.

Stephanie
By Amanda Gragg & Westside 7th Graders

We want you to know
Just how much we care.
When we entered the room,
We thought you'd always be there.
But now that you're gone,
And your love's left behind.
Your smile we'll remember
Your heart was so kind
We'll miss you so much
Just remember our love
While you sing in the choir
With angels above.

Stephanie Johnson
By Meghan Cureton - 5th Period - 3-31-98

On March twenty-four it was all taken away
After the stroke of 12:41, there she lay.
But now she lives in the skies above
Floating on clouds as wite as a turtle dove
And singing her sweet joyful song.
Because now there is nothing that can go wrong
She shall walk the streets for gold past the pearly gates
She will hear no arguments or angry debates
For she is in Heaven in God's own arms
Away from all of the world's horrible harms.
