Backyard Resort: Red Apple Inn

Swimming, fishing, water skiing, playing tennis and golfing sound like activities that are found by a beach in Florida. But for Searcy residents in need of a vacation, a peaceful, relaxing, fun-filled getaway is only a short 45-minute drive to the Red Apple Inn of Heber Springs.

For both new and experienced golfers, there is the Natural State Golf Trail, a 6,018-yard course which contains 15 smaller courses that overlook Greers Ferry Lake. There are two swimming pools at the Inn and the Isle Harbor Pool is within a short distance. Greers Ferry Lake is another popular swimming venue that offers rental boats and personal watercrafts. Lighted tennis courts are located at the Inn and by the Isle Harbor Pool area.

The Red Apple Inn may be considered a sport fisherman’s paradise, with Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River close by. Greers Ferry Lake is well-known for its trout and smallmouth bass fishing. The Little Red River is known for its abundant walleye population.

For those who tire of the outdoors, (highly unlikely) the Red Apple Inn also provides a fitness center that offers various workout equipment, two steam rooms, two massage rooms and a whirlpool for relaxation.

Not only can visitors find relaxation from the numerous activities, but they can also find it in the different guest rooms offered at the Inn. The Inn rooms contain European furniture, with every room having its own unique decoration. These rooms offer either king or double beds, and certain rooms have a balcony or patio. The Fireplace rooms, which come with a balcony, have a more romantic feel for the couples who want to get away from the stress of everyday life.

Some of the more spacious guest areas at the Inn are Suites, which include two separate living areas, king-sized beds, sofa, chairs and a television in the living room, a private balcony and a whirlpool tub. Condos are located on the golf course and near the Inn and are available for larger families, containing one to three bedrooms, a kitchen and laundry room. The largest guest houses offered are the Island Homes. Island Homes are spacious, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a garage, decks and a fully equipped kitchen.

But for those who are still unsatisfied with the accommodations at Heber Springs, the Red Apple Inn offers a three bedroom, three bathroom beach front condo in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

Dining is an important part of any getaway experience, and Red Apple Inn’s doesn’t disappoint. Formal attire is required in the dining hall, and views of the landscape can be seen during dinner, where the famous “Sticky Pudding Cake” is served for dessert. Catering is also offered for various events like large, small and private parties. Food selections are not limited to the Inn’s menu; they will specialize the menu to make it perfect for the event it caters.

Sightseeing around Red Apple Inn is not limited to Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River. A lot of opportunities for exploration exist beyond just the lakes and rivers.
