1Ti 2:1 says “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;”

Hosea 4:6 says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge…” By being informed, being involved, and most importantly committing to daily prayer and supplication for our nation and our leaders we can begin to turn our nation away from the destructive course it is currently on.

King David said in Ps 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Our country is under attack from within and from without. We are seeing the foundations of our freedoms quickly crumble before our eyes. If we Christians don’t take action soon, we will wake up to a nation that we don’t recognize. It will be a nation that is not only intolerant to Christian family values but a nation that will actively persecute and prosecute individual Pastors and congregations for simply sharing the whole counsel of God’s word.

Any blood bought child of God would agree that we must have a Biblical view of the world. Every issue must be viewed through the Bible, God’s truth.

Deuteronomy 6:24 says, “And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And then in Deuteronomy 10:13 God says, “to keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?”

God gives us His principles to obey for our good, so that we might always prosper. To observe His principles in any area of life is to our benefit. When His principles are rejected or even neglected it is to our detriment, whether it is personally or nationally. Millions, in nations all over the world, have been harmed by a forced separation of God’s principles from their civilizations.

It was the original intent of our founding fathers that God’s people remain intricately involved in the political, social, and legal arenas as the conscience of the nation. When the Godly withdraw from an arena their Godly values are withdrawn also. An individual in public office always legislates or judges according to his own personal beliefs and convictions or lack thereof.

God gives us this truth in Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” It is our responsibility to elect people with faith based character to rule our country whether they are Local, State or National offices.

Many Christians have bought into the liberal’s lie concerning the separation of Church and State. The original intent was to keep the government out of the church, never to keep God’s people or His principles out of government. Yet many Christian leaders have come to view politics as something to be separated from. We would not have a country if our founding fathers believed so.

Charles G. Finney said, "The church must take the right ground in regard to politics. Politics are a part of religion in a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as part of their duty to God. God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics."

It is we Christians who have through apathy, political inactivity, and lack of knowledge, handed the leadership of our educational system, individual state governments and the nation over to people who are not only willing but eager to destroy the Christian foundations that our nation has rested upon for 231 years.

To bring America back to the Godly principles it was founded upon is a process: It must begin with prayer and the claiming of God’s promise, but God’s national promise has a prerequisite…seeking God’s face is not talking about a national day of prayer, nothing wrong with that, but God’s promise is predicated in part upon the seeking of His face, that carries with it a consistent, daily pray commitment to interceding for one’s nation.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

There must be a restoration of personal beliefs, realization, and appreciation for the liberty that we, as Americans all share. We must remember that these liberties were born out of the principles of God’s word by our founding fathers and protected by our forefathers. Our founding fathers were men of deep spiritual conviction and vision, who suffered great personal sacrifice, some paying the ultimate price for the liberties we, too often, take for granted. Our country needs a commitment and renewed purpose by Pastors to encourage Christian involvement back in government.

God’s people must be involved by being informed on the critical issues that affect us today. In the fast pace society we live there are many of God’s people who are not informed simply because of lack of time. This ministry gives people an idea of what is available on the important issues that affect our daily liberties by which we live.

A few examples;
Judicial activism is unconstitutional. It has changed our laws, giving us a valueless society where since the beginning of Roe vs. Wade there has been an average of over 4,000 babies murdered each day. That is on the average close to 3 every 20 seconds. Over 48.5 million precious innocent human lives have been murdered since 1973.

We are seeing the 10 Commandments being removed from our courts, which are the very basis of our judicial system. James Madison, one of the chief Architects of the Constituion said, “We have staked the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God”.

HR 1592 is the hate crimes bill that will rob us of our freedom of speech, make portions of God’s word illegal, and set up a Gay Gestapo. If bills like this are signed into law we will easily see Pastors and Christians prosecuted and even begin to suffer lengthy jail terms.

We must commit to God to pray for our nation and our leaders on a daily basis. 1Timothy 2:1 says “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

The Reverend Mathias Burnett, from the 1700's said, "Finally, ye...whose power it is to save or destroy your country, consider well the important trust which God...[has] put into your hands. To God and posterity you are accountable to them. Let not your children have reason to curse you for giving up those rights and prostrating those institutions which your fathers delivered to you."

As Edmund Burke exhorts us from the past, "all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Chuck Harding with, Americans for Change, is a God and Country ministry We must protect and preserve our freedoms so we may pass them on to our children, and grand children and, if God tarries His coming, generations to come.
