The ice cream was created as a limited edition flavor just for the fall, and is made with real pumpkin puree, spices and blended with pie crust pieces. According to Jeff Holtz, Director of Yarnell's R&D, it contains "just the right amount of spices & flavor to give it the authentic taste of mom's pumpkin pie, fresh out of the oven." Yarnell's customers may remember the flavor, as a similar Pumpkin Pie flavor was made available in the fall of 2006 and 2007.
