Central Arkansas Drug Task Force Conducted Search
On February 11, 2011 at approximately 7:57 pm White County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Deputy Randy Reed initiated a traffic stop at the 37 mile marker on US Highway 67/167 on a white 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Luis Raul Flores, 44, of El Paso, TX. Deputy Reed subsequently conducted a canine sniff on the vehicle with his canine “Magic”. “Magic” gave a positive alert for controlled substances. A search of the vehicle was conducted by Deputy Reed along with officers from the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force (CADTF) Arkansas State Police (ASP), and Arkansas Highway Police. A hidden compartment was located which contained approximately 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the form of Ice, approximate street value $453,000.00. Federal authorities were contacted and Flores was taken into federal custody. Flores is being charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver.
