Searcy Region of First Community Bank Reaches $200 Million

First Community Bank’s Searcy region has reached $200 million in assets, the board of directors has announced.

First Community Bank expanded to Searcy in March 1999. Searcy’s initial presence was a loan production office, but three months later a full-service banking center was opened in a temporary location on Beebe Capps Expressway.

In April 2002, the bank opened the doors to a building at 2401 W. Beebe Capps Expressway, which now is the headquarters for First Community’s Searcy operation. A month later a second location, at 2801 Race Ave., was opened to serve the growing customer base.

First Community expanded to Bald Knob in January 2006 and later that year opened the fourth White County branch, on Arkansas 16.

“It’s humbling to watch our dream come to reality,” said David Wood, community president. “Searcy and White County have embraced our style of banking and welcomed us with open arms. First Community Bank has quickly become a bank of choice in White County.”

“Helping grow the local economy and giving back to the communities we serve has been the foundation on which First Community Bank was built,” Wood said. “We truly live our slogan, ‘Where community comes first.’ We are so appreciative of our customers, shareholders and employees because they are the backbone of our success.”

First Community Bank is a one-stop financial center offering mortgage, trust, brokerage, insurance and traditional banking services.

A public reception to celebrate reaching the $200 million milestone is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13. The festivities will include finger foods, cake, special giveaways and the opportunity to register for a cash drawing. The bank will offer specials throughout August.

First Community Bank is a locally owned and managed bank that operates 14 banking locations. Arkansas locations are in Batesville, Bald Knob, Cabot, Cave City, Highland, Mountain Home and Searcy. Missouri branches are in Goodman, Jane and Neosho. Mortgage lending is offered throughout the network of branches, with additional stand-alone origination offices in Jonesboro and at Exit Realty in Searcy. First Community Bank, headquartered in Batesville, employs 198 professional bankers and reports overall assets of $682 million.
